Instagram Launches “Creator Fund” To Reward High-Quality Reels Content
Instagram announced a new program to pay creators for top-performing Reels. The “Creator Fund” aims to support users who consistently share engaging short videos on the platform. Starting next month, eligible creators in the U.S., Canada, and the U.K. can apply for monthly payments based on content performance.

The company said the fund targets creators who post original Reels that generate high views, shares, and interactions. Instagram plans to distribute millions of dollars monthly. Payments will vary depending on metrics like watch time and audience growth. Creators must meet minimum follower counts and posting frequency rules to qualify.
Meta CEO Adam Mosseri stated the initiative reflects Instagram’s commitment to rewarding creativity. He emphasized Reels as a core feature for connecting communities. The fund builds on previous tools like bonuses for Reels views, but focuses more on consistent quality over viral hits.
Creators can check eligibility through the app’s Professional Dashboard. Selected participants will receive notifications and payment details via email. Instagram clarified that content must follow community guidelines and avoid branded partnerships to qualify.
Analysts note the move aligns with Instagram’s push to compete with TikTok and YouTube Shorts. By incentivizing creators, the platform hopes to retain top talent and attract new users. Recent updates like longer Reels and enhanced editing tools also aim to boost creator output.
The fund will expand to more countries later this year. Instagram plans to add features like real-time earnings tracking and personalized feedback for creators. The company encourages users to review program terms and update their accounts to professional mode for access.
